Bio: At first, Los Angeles surf rock band La Luz may not seem like a Made in Michigan band, but its lead singer and sole constant member Shana Cleveland has her roots in the Great Lakes state. Born and raised in Kalamazoo, Cleveland began playing music at an early age, once opening for her parents’ blues band. She later moved to Seattle, where she would eventually form La Luz with former member Marian Li Pino. With dreamy melodies and harmonies, with energetic pep mixed in, this band makes for a perfect soundtrack while visiting the beach. The band has seen wide acclaim and success across their five studio albums.
