Bio: Described as “One of the brightest stars on the acoustic music scene” by PULP online, Judy Banker is a singer-songwriter who has been working hard in the Ann Arbor music scene since 2014. Releasing three albums since then, her sound has been tweaked over time to feature country-rooted instruments like acoustic guitar, pedal steel, and banjo, mixed in with electric guitar, lap steel, and keyboards for a more rock edge. Banker’s emotions can be heard pouring from her soulful melodies and evocative lyrics, with her first release “Without You” centering around the death of her longtime husband, John Sayler. Banker is set to host a release party for her fourth record “Bona Fide” on Nov. 4, 2023 at The Ark in Ann Arbor, with fellow A2 musician Annie Bacon serving as the opening act.
